About me

Passionate about languages and cultural diversity and driven by a great curiosity, I have been a translator and interpreter for more than ten years. After obtaining a Master's degree in Modern Literature and graduating from ISTELI (Institute of International Transport and Logistics), I worked as a logistics coordinator for a few years during which I started to translate technical documents. In 2009, I stopped working in the logistics field, to dedicate myself to translation and interpreting. At the beginning I mostly translated technical documents related to the oil mand gas sector, then I gradually extended my skills, by addressing working in very fields, such as marketing, finance, environment, or cosmetics, among others.

I have also translated sociology and psychoanalysis articles for specialized magazines (including the CAIRN:  https://www.cairn.info/publications-de-Ducerisier-%20François--662548.htm) .  I have also adapted scripts for movies and series, including Crime time (seasons 1-3), In America (season 2), Going to Brazil, Amores de chumbo, Terrible jungle, among others.

As an interpreter (French/English/Portuguese), I have participated in more than fifty events, including the French film festival Varilux, in Rio de Janeiro, from 2014 to 2018, the FLUPP festival (Feira Literária das UPPS) in 2016 to 2018, the United Nations conference on sustainable development (Rio+20), in 2012, the LAAD defense and security exhibition in Rio, in 2013, or the Rio Paralympic Games, in 2016, and most recently, in 2022, the Biarritz International Festival of Latin American Cinema. The solid experience I have acquired allows me to master various interpretation techniques: simultaneous, consecutive, whispered.  You can watch an example of consecutive interpreting (a conference held y Denis Gheerbrant in Rio in 2015) by clicking on the following link:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzI3HA2mocY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Moeqm82xalA

In 2017, in order to further expand the range of my skills, I followed a subtitling training course at the Brasillis institute and a translation techniques for dubbing course at the PUC university (Pontífica Universidade Católica) in Rio de Janeiro. Since then, I often provide subtitles for feature films, documentaries, or corporate films.
